Referral Union is a professional networking site that seeks to match up those applying for jobs with those currently holding positions at companies that offer referral bonuses for new hires.

The benefit to applicants and current employees is significant:

Applicants: Because they are referred by an employee already working at the company, the applicants have an inherent advantage over those applying by other methods.

Current Employees: The current employees receive a cash reward from their employer for referring a qualified applicant; further, the employee is seen as taking a larger, proactive, role in his company.

This way, current employees can proactively seek out potential applicants and take charge of the bonus system in a more efficient manner. Instead of canvassing all your friends for potential applicants, current employees will have a vast database from which to choose.

Further, applicants get the inside track to the application process, skipping over the inefficient HR behemoth and going straight to the source, ensuring at least SOMEONE looks at their resume.
